Asian Communications Network was founded in early August 2024 by Advita Patel, Farzana Baduel, and Shayoni Lynn, three PR agency owners based in the UK.
Research from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and Public Relations and Communications Associate shows that only 5% of the industry is represented by Asian PR professionals. The numbers don’t reflect the public we serve, which leads to an incredible amount of bias and stereotyping in the industry.
The Asian Communications Network has been established to help communication professionals connect with others who understand their challenges and barriers. It inspires hope and builds stronger connections so people feel less alone. We want to provide a safe space for people to learn from each other, build relationships, and share stories to evoke inspiration.
The community will determine this, but our aim is to host a community event at least four times a year, across the UK. We will also be hosting webinars and special events to bring more people together.
If you are from an Asian background or an ally who wants to support the community, you are more than welcome to join. The community is aimed at PR, communications, media and marketing professionals.
To join the community is completely free for all. To become a premium member, it's £180 for 12 months, which is equivalent to 50p a day. You can find out more through the membership link.
